Link: Please! No (full) Practice Swings Part II
The avg golfer’s practice swing:
• does NOT create a feel
• USES energy
• IS a ‘whiff’ swing (no impact and you’ll never have that in golf, more on this in an upcoming blog)
• NO Tempo
The pro golfer’s practice swing:
• CREATES a feel
• Prepares the golfer to release energy
• is NOT a whiff swing because they’re not swinging 100%
• CREATES tempo
The 2 exceptions to this rule:
1. Weird lies – side hill lies, excessive winds, etc…
2. Short game shots
In both these situations, you need to simulate the full shot to make sure your body understands the ‘delicacy’ of the situation.
